About me

The short version

They say that sticks and stones may break your bones, but I know that words really do HURT!

At the age of 4 I received my very first guitar. Not thinking much of it, I turned it around and started beating this expensive gift like a drum. Naturally, my family was not the least bit amused by my musical demonstration, causing my new “drum set” to be placed back in its box only to be handled when Daddy was around to help me.                                                                Between family favourites such as Die Padda wil gaan opsit and Amazing Grace, I fell in love with music on a deeper level than just beats. With no training of any kind, the dream of becoming a star grew inside of me. In my head, I would someday be the next Sharpay Evens starring in High school musical 4 (or at least something similar, haha). At the age of 6 I basically had my entire life planned out. Unfortunately, life doesn’t always work out the way you want it to.

My experiences has inspired the music I write and the desperate urge I have to reach as many people as I possibly can to tell them that life gets better and they should hold on. Bullying happens all around us, it’s more common than we think.

I have my faults, but my God uses it all to make me who He wants me to be. I don’t know where my story will go in the future - I’m not the writer. But I do believe that this is the first step to reaching my goals. Join me on my journey…
